Maybelline Baby Lips have been raved about forever. When my Revlon Lip Butter run out (my first ever lip product to finish hooray), I finally bought one in Cherry Me. I have a mixed opinion about it, and will not be repurchasing it for a couple of reasons. If you are interested, please stay tuned... Maybelline Baby Lips claims to be a tinted lip balm that moisturizes for up to 8 hours. Here is a brief review:
Color payoff (B): Cherry me is a wearable and flattering cherry pink that results in extremely natural "I just ate a lolly pop" effect. It has a glossy finish that make your lips look very healthy and hydrated. The stick color is very true to color, but in a tint. Do not expect full blown out color like you might expect from Revlon Lip butters or Maybelline Color Whispers.
Formula (C+): It is non-sticky formula that somewhat moisturizes lips temporarily for a couple of hours. Do not be fooled by the 8 hours moisture claim. It smells like cherry, which is pretty pleasant, but it tastes like cheap candies I used to eat as a child years ago. I was fine with the scent and taste for the first couple of days, but eventually it started to taste like molten plastic, which ended up bothering me very much.
Staying Power (C-): It stays for maybe an hour at most and need to be reapplied. Moisturizing effect does not last more than 2 hours, unlike what you might expect from a lip balm.
Price (A+): I purchased it for $2.99, which is an amazing bargain for this product.
Overall (C+): I would purchase multiple Maybelline Baby Lips, if I were not bothered by the taste of it. For that reason, I would not repurchase it, though I am absolutely in love with the color. If you are sensitive to scents and tastes, then i would be careful with this product. However, if that is not something you care for, then this might be something definitely worth checking out.
